ReHash 1/3/99

The Hashers found themselves in snowy Buttermilk Falls for the first hash of the new year– Hares Skull and Eric seemed to sprout wings at times since there was often an eerie lack of footprints on the kool aid trail. Having made our way past the Inlet Fishway and down the railroad tracks, the trail turned and we found ourselves running through an ancient bone-yard! The hash-rest came directly after we crossed the ford of a chilly babbling brook. On the other side of the water there sat a provocative bottle of port, another of schnapps, and a sack of ginger snaps (or, as Pouch referred to them: scooby snacks).

The On-In! was, as everyone knows, at Eric’s crib on Geneva Street. A great bachelor pad, except for the bathroom where temperatures hover near absolute zero. Not wanting the Hashers to freeze, Eric was kind enough to light a pizza box on fire for warmth. Cleverly, he made it look like an accident by turning the stove knobs with his ass until the greasy pizza box sitting on top was fully involved with flames! Suggestion: get a fresh 9-Volt for the smoke alarm– it was pretty quiet throughout that whole thing.

Roadkill and Vibrator were among the first to drink down-downs. At the aforementioned babbling brook, the two dry hashers made their way across a fallen tree. Having used the straddle-method to cross, they were accused of making love to a tree trunk.

Kai was sentenced to drink for showering before the On-In; while Vibe drank for changing into what appeared to be her pajamas. In addition, Wet & Sticky (up from Brooklyn with k9-pal Bix) and Pouch were sentenced for apparently calling each other the night before the Hash and agreeing to wear something from the B.U.M. Equipment catalog. Spike and Skull were each awarded a down-down for wearing hash shirts.

Also, long lost hashers Ribbed and Jenny made an appearance (Ribbed was sporting his infamous striped long-johns). Jenny drank for falling down at a critical moment during the snowball fight; and Ribbed drank for not doing a better job of protecting a damsel in distress. Although, in his defense, it was every person for themselves!!!

Phil McCrackin did a side-side for this birthday. And he and Vibe did a joint down-down in celebration of their recent engagement. Congratulations from the Hash!!!
