ReHash #363

Rehash from 12/9/01, starting from the Nines…

It was a great day for a hash, even if it was a tid bit nipply. Half Monty and Ball Wrinkle were standing outside the Nines after setting trail, when Just Mark shows up and naively asks if this is where the hash starts… ahhh, our virgin for the day. And being the generous virgin, he brought five swiss ski bunnies along with… just enough for each hasher to have his own "swiss miss," it would turn out (hmm… swiss miss, now there’s an idea for a hash name, don’t you think?). Next I drove by looking for a parking space, and eventually ran up to the growing crowd with some cold beers for everyone, and just about at the same time Spike joined us all.

So after a brief chalk talk, we were off looking for chalk (no flour today). The trail took us through collegetown and onto campus, down on past the dorms, and to some awesome overlooks of the Ithaca falls on Fall creek. Then, next thing we knew, we’d reached our first hash rest… at the Fall Creek House, where we were treated to a pitcher of Labatt’s (thanks, BW!). Hershey and Toby got some attention and dog bones from a couple fellow bar patrons, and all were happy.

After our beer, we went looking for trail again, and were lead down, down, down into town. Before long, we were running between townhouses and scaring non-hashers with the echoes of on-on, and causing havok with traffic. Then, just as everyone is getting weary (and thirsty!), we came to the magic chalk mark: BN. And luck has it, that it was right in front of Phil McCrackin’ and Vibrator’s house. So we were invited in to chat, get warm by the fireplace and play with the little Cracker. Since we were all so relaxed there, we decided to declare Phil and Vibrator’s place our on-in, and we did our down-downs in the backyard. Our hares drank, as did our virgin, me for being a BLEB, and spike for something that we made up to give him a reason to drink. Oh, and our lovely swiss misses gave us some special treats too. After closing circle, we all piled into Ball Wrinkle’s truck and went on up to the Nines for pizza and beer.

Well, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. For everyone that missed it, they missed some great fall creek scenery and five gorgeous swiss ski bunnies!
