A Drinking Club with a Running Problem
Rehash for Hash #309
Location: Wegman’s Parking Lot
The hash started with the hare waking the co-hare up half an hour after we were to begin setting, and having to endure his nude visage as he came to answer the door. This hare knew it would be a long day (especially since he’d been up since 6AM) The hares after having a liquid equivalent of Wheaties (Wheat Beer), and a bialy went to scout the terrain. We drove around and then stopped for another wheat breakfast and discussed the trail further. Finally, around 12:45 we decided that we had a plan…so we drew a map and argued about the scale for another half hour (remember that hash time is at 2PM!) At quarter past one we began setting trail. We ran out route 13 North out, out, out, then back, back, back (actually it was a back check 5, but most ran back six) Then West to the canal and up the hill into scenic West Hill. We ran through some of Ithaca’s finest project housing…through domestic disputes, garbage, etc…the best of urban shiggy. Then down, down, down the hill back to run along the canal. The hashers were then taunted by the hares across the canal with an arrow on the one side pointing to the beer rest (and hares) on the other. Many profanities were exchanged and no hasher was brave enough to swim the icy cold waters (they crossed at the bridge some 300 yards down). ON-IN was graciously held at the McCrackin Lodge. And there was no soup, much to the chagrin of most hashers.
Next hash is December 12th. We need Hares!!!
